First Dip In The Lake

Parsons is named after Gram Parsons but sometimes she reminds me of Alice Cooper!  Must be the eyes....

Ah, my Cooper Blue Eye, :)

 Cooper's Footprints

Parsons first little dip in the water. She didn't go in too far but I think she will soon be going in for a swim.  This day was a day that two puppies had to be carried straight in to the bath tub - they were both muddy.

Houston Pet Expo ~ April 16, 2011

Houston Pet Expo
This man wanted to pet Parsons. Taking advantage of the opportunity I asked him if she could get down and inspect his scooter as I want her to be a therapy dog. To become a therapy dog when older, it helps to aclimate a puppy to everything they will see later such as wheel chairs, crutches, scooters and things of that nature.   He said if I would watch his dog he would help her get acquainted and off they went.
  She liked it!

Oh, Wow!  This big pup was so very cute!  A tutu and pink painted toe nails. So very sweet. Parsons just had to get out and say "Hello".  lol
A gorgeous dog showing her awesome agility skills.

Beautiful, but huge dogs.  So well behaved.
Ah, Big Daddy is practicing for Grandbabies!
We found a Teddy Bear!  She was cute and beautiful and very sweet.  Parsons was not amused. We met every puppy in the building just about, but when Mommie picked up the Teddy Bear and was sweet talking to her Parsons decided that she didn't like her much.  I'm beginning to think that Parsons is a wee-bit spoiled.
This little guy (lol) was named Connery, after the Sean Connery.  I can see the resemblence. Now, this guy was HUGE.  I believe his person said he is Six Foot when he stands. He is a therapy dog at Methodist Hospital. I bet he is great at the bedside because he is just about the right height. Patients don't have to bend over so it's easy for them.
This little boy really wanted Parsons to take her pacifer. He tried hard to get her to take it but then just decided he would pet her instead.

Total Cuteness. She was in the dancing show.  :)

Fun At The Park

We had a long day today and Parsons and Cooper had to spend a lot of time alone. Tired as I was I wanted to take them up to the small lake by our house so Cooper could go for her little swim.  We went and then decided to go along to the park.  Sometimes when you make little detours it can turn into something a little more interesting than you thought.  We usually go to the park in the early afternoons.  It turns out that after five o'clock it's very busy there.  Parsons and Cooper made quite a few new friends there and so did we!

Parsons and I taught this curious little boy why dogs lick and smell your hands. He was so curious! He also wanted to know why she had tears. So we had to explain that since her nose is so short sometimes it has to run out of her eyes, in a way. He was amazed. He also learned never to run from a dog. Do you see how he has his palms out? That's because Parsons taught him to greet a dog with his palms out so they can sniff them first and get to know them. lol
I'm encouraged now, I think Parsons does have a good chance of becoming a good therapy dog when she is one year old. I can't wait!

Dreaming of the day when she can chase these strange new creatures she sees!

Cooper is teaching Parsons so much! It's amazing how much an older dog can teach a new pup. Their love grows so quickly.

Nacogdoches Trip ~ Ruby Mize Azalea Garden & Azalea Trail - 2011

We went to Nacogdoches, the oldest town in Texas with Mommie, Daddy, Lorraine and Jack.  It was my first long trip in the car. I thought the azaleas in Downtown Houston were pretty.  They said we just had to go to the Ruby Mize Azalea Garden in Nacogdoches. Wow!  That place in Nacogdoches has so many flowers it is hard to get a look at them all - especially when you are height challenged! I am so short, but at least I have a stroller so it's easier to see things when I ride in it.  I also had my second picnic. Picnics are kind of fun because you get to enjoy your lunch and nature at the same time.  I'm learning a lot these days. I love my sister and I miss her when she is not with us when we leave the house; I can't wait to get home. I just love playing with her.
