We had a long day today and Parsons and Cooper had to spend a lot of time alone. Tired as I was I wanted to take them up to the small lake by our house so Cooper could go for her little swim. We went and then decided to go along to the park. Sometimes when you make little detours it can turn into something a little more interesting than you thought. We usually go to the park in the early afternoons. It turns out that after five o'clock it's very busy there. Parsons and Cooper made quite a few new friends there and so did we!
Parsons and I taught this curious little boy why dogs lick and smell your hands. He was so curious! He also wanted to know why she had tears. So we had to explain that since her nose is so short sometimes it has to run out of her eyes, in a way. He was amazed. He also learned never to run from a dog. Do you see how he has his palms out? That's because Parsons taught him to greet a dog with his palms out so they can sniff them first and get to know them. lol
I'm encouraged now, I think Parsons does have a good chance of becoming a good therapy dog when she is one year old. I can't wait!
Dreaming of the day when she can chase these strange new creatures she sees!
Cooper is teaching Parsons so much! It's amazing how much an older dog can teach a new pup. Their love grows so quickly.
